Complaint about neighbour parking on grassed footpath, illegal dumping of waste, seeking council intervention for resolution and enforcement of regulations.
Peter and Peggy Pozoglou 120 Yanderra Street Condell Park Sydney. NSW 2200 peterpoz7@gmail.com 0412281400 Canterbury Bankstown Council Saturday, 4 May 2024 Dear Sir/Madam, Re: Complaint Regarding Property at 6 Old Kent Road, Greenacre I am writing to express my deep concern and frustration regarding ongoing issues with the property located at 6 Old Kent Road, Greenacre. As the landlords of this property, my spouse and I have encountered significant challenges due to the behaviour of our neighbour and the lack of action from the council. The specific issue we are facing pertains to the neighbour who resides behind our property. Despite repeated requests and attempts to address the matter amicably, the neighbour continues to park their vehicle on the grassed footpath area adjacent to our house. This area falls under our responsibility for maintenance, including mowing the lawn. However, the constant presence of the neighbour's vehicle obstructs access and makes it impossible for us to fulfill our obligations. Past attempts to address this issue have unfortunately resulted in an altercation with the neighbour, who responded with aggression and hostility. Despite involving the council to mediate the situation, no satisfactory resolution has been reached, and the problem persists unabated. The ongoing presence of the neighbour's vehicle poses not only a logistical challenge but also a safety concern, as it obstructs our ability to maintain the property adequately. Furthermore, we have observed that other neighbours in the vicinity are indiscriminately disposing of construction waste materials and other rubbish in the communal areas, including the grassed area adjacent to our property. This irresponsible behaviour further compounds the problem, as it makes it virtually impossible for us to clean and maintain the area effectively. Moreover, the presence of hazardous waste materials poses a serious risk of accidents and potential harm to residents and passersby. In light of these persistent challenges, we urgently request the council to intervene and take decisive action to address these issues. Specifically, we seek the council's assistance in enforcing regulations regarding parking on grassed footpaths and implementing measures to prevent illegal dumping of waste materials in communal areas. We kindly request that the council provide us with written confirmation of the steps and actions that will be taken to resolve these matters promptly. Given the escalating nature of these issues, we emphasise the importance of swift and effective intervention to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents in the area. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to receiving your prompt response and assurances of action. Yours sincerely, Peter and Peggy Pozoglou

Customer seeks compensation for lost solar power due to new building blocking sunlight, privacy concerns, and lack of communication with canterbury-bankstown council.
Hi,

My name is Dieu Hoang of 37 Hodgkinson Crescent, Panania 2213. I have some issues with a new building right at the back of my house but I can never get through to Bankstown council because the phone kept ringing and waiting but nobody ever picked up. I need to be able to connect to Bankstown council to dispute the matter.

Now, the issues are:

The owner/builder of property 7 Roslyn Avenue, Panania 2213 (right at the back of my house) is building a new 2 storeys house there but:

1. I have never received any notification from neither Bankstown council nor the builder of what they planned to build. I think they have also deliberately elevated the ground to make the foundation even higher.

2. Currently, they are erecting the 2nd level of the house, which will definitely block the sun to our 21 solar panels facing west from around 2:00PM onward in Winter. This is a significant loss of the solar production and 3:00PM onward is the time we consume a lot of energy (cooking, preparing dinner etc). Banktown council promote "green" but they allowed high building blocking solar panels, which is to me, not fair and not acceptable. This is a serious problem to us.

3. With elevated building like that, tenants in that property would be able to look down and see everything in our backyard, which is a serious privacy issue. I am not sure why Bankstown council has approved for them to proceed.

I would want to raise these issues with Bankstown council for them to:

a. stop the construction and revise the plan so that it's fair and acceptable.

b. compensate for lost solar power. With 21 panels at 400w each (almost brand new as we have just installed them over one year ago), we could see at least 300w x 21 = 6.3kW per hour. When the sun is blocked from 2:00pm to 6:00pm, it would be 4 hours. Therefore, each day it would cause loss of solar power, at least 15kWh - 20kWh.

Currently, we have to pay 37 cents for each kW from Energy Australia. If we lost 15kWh, how much we lost each day? each month and each year?

Thanks for your helps.

Dieu.

Residents are suffering from toxic fumes due to improper spray painting at a residence, causing health issues and requesting intervention from the council.
6a Bass Road Earlwood.
Spay painting cars in a residence without proper ventilation. There are toxic fumes through out the house, and the residents
are experiencing headaches and breathing issues.
There should be a proper spaying booth with air scrubbers, but this is not an industrial zone, so the best thing they should do is stop and find the appropriate faculties for this kind of operation.
