Complaint about lack of privacy due to new townhouse construction at 18 hughenden road, st kilda east, seeking action from port phillip council.
Philip Walsh 1/16 Hughenden Road St Kilda East 3183 Email – juzzmuzik2019@gmail.com 0413 657 036 11/04/2024 City of Port Phillip Council Dear Sir/Madam, Subject: Complaint Regarding Lack of Privacy Consideration at 18 Hughenden Road, St Kilda East I am writing to express my deep concern and dissatisfaction regarding the lack of consideration for privacy in the construction of the new townhouse at 18 Hughenden Road, St Kilda East. As the owner of the neighbouring property, 1/16 Hughenden Road, I am deeply troubled by the positioning of windows in the new building that directly overlook and intrude upon the privacy of my bedroom. It has come to my attention that some of the windows in the newly constructed townhouse are positioned in such a way that they are directly opposite and above my bedroom window. This configuration allows for a full view of my bedroom, compromising my privacy and sense of security within my own home. Despite the proximity of our properties, no alterations have been made to the design of the new dwelling to address the privacy concerns raised by the direct line of sight into my bedroom. As a resident and property owner in this neighbourhood, I believe it is crucial for the City of Port Phillip Council to address and rectify this situation promptly. The lack of consideration for privacy in the construction of the new townhouse at 18 Hughenden Road not only violates my right to privacy but also poses a significant disturbance to the peaceful enjoyment of my property. I urge the City of Port Phillip Council to investigate this matter thoroughly and take appropriate action to ensure that the privacy and security of residents in the area are respected and protected. It is imperative that measures are put in place to mitigate the intrusive view from the new townhouse into my bedroom and to prevent any further breaches of privacy. I kindly request that the City of Port Phillip Council conducts a review of the building plans and construction of 18 Hughenden Road to assess the impact on neighbouring properties and to implement necessary changes to address the privacy concerns raised. I trust that the Council will take this matter seriously and work towards a satisfactory resolution that upholds the privacy rights of all residents in the area. Thank you for your attention to this important issue. I look forward to a prompt and effective response from the City of Port Phillip Council. Sincerely, Philip Walsh
