Vehicles are illegally using Baringa Park, causing noise and safety issues for residents.
The tenants at 17 Baringa Place Hillvue have been driving large utes, trailers, and cars across Baringa Park for over 4 weeks. Number plates of vehicles include DJ 10PV and BCH 06T. I have video of the wood-cutting, showing it’s noise and location in the park. I couldn't upload the file here; it is 34MB and may be too large. If Council has a Facebook Messenger contact or similar, I could send this video to you.

From 25 July to 11 August, they have also been carting trailers of wood across the park (illegally using the driveway of 30 Mustang Close to access), and running a chainsaw for hours on end most days. I have also seen vehicles from 17 Baringa Place using the driveway at 26 Mustang Close to access the park. I have a home office from which I run a Financial Planning business at 19 Stratford Place, and I can’t make or receive phone calls whilst the chainsaw is operating. In addition, their vehicles are leaving deep tyre marks in the wet grass parkland, and I’ve twisted my ankle a couple of times when walking out there. I did try to talk to the tenants (two men and a lady) on 2 August 2024 to ask them if they were conducting a wood cutting business (which they refuted) and told me they would finish cutting wood that day. The wood cutting has continued. Children play in this park, and should not have to be looking out for vehicles, particular large ones with extended loads and trailers. I also advised the tenants that Baringa Park is not for regular vehicle use, and that most of the residents backing onto the park look after it with mowing and watering.

They also have a boxer-type dog which regularly jumps the fence and runs around off leash (and supervision) in the park where children play. I spoke to one of the tenants today and she said sorry, they know it’s getting out, and they need to put up chicken wire on the fence. Given they are tenants, I don’t know if this is allowed, or if the Property owner will agree to this.

These issues are all Risk issues for Council, and are degrading the value of our properties, and our peaceful neighbourhood.

I understand that Rob Miller and his step daughter, Ava, who owns 30 Mustang Place, have already made a complaint to Council about the vehicles driving across her driveway and lawn to access Baringa Park. Ava has a photo of tyre marks across her driveway and lawn from 28 March (5 months ago).

We would really appreciate Council assistance to:
1. Contact the Real Estate Agent for 17 Baringa Place, and advise them of their tenants unacceptable behaviour and requirement to desist using Baringa Park as vehicle access to their property.
2. Send a Ranger or Parks and Gardens Employee to inspect the park and speak to the tenants.

Many thanks for your assistance.

Kim Scott
19 Stratford Place
Hillvue NSW 2340
0403 163 525
