Customer seeks resolution for unresolved issue with lounge suite purchased in 2020, facing challenges with recliner and warranty coverage.
Our situation was left unresolved in November 2023. We would now like to report this to you in the hope that we can come to a solution that is fair to both parties. Our 2 lounge suites were purchased in 2020 and we had many issues with one particular one. The leather corner lounge with electric recliner on one end. As of late last year a service man was organised to come out to fix the foot rest as it was no longer unfolding. He was able to confirm that it was a manufacturing issue where a screw hinge was cracked. This was going to be replaced according to his information. We were then informed after having to chase a response 3 time since we had not heard back that the product required was no longer available (discontinued) and 2, the electrics of the chair did not in fact fall under the 5 yr warranty. There are no words to describe the frustration and feeling of having been robbed after that piece of information was confirmed by the head office. Desperately trying to find other avenues and offering to pay eventhough we felt that this would be unfair for any kind of assistance , we were simply told that there is nothing which could be done at their end. It is now 7 months later and we have not been able to utilise the recliner part of the lounge as per what it was originally purchased for and not to mention advertised. I have seeked legal advice and was told to pursue your help as a last resort. If we can not have this chair fixed, although the body and fabric is still in very good condition, we would have to dispose of it leaving us with part of a lounge without an arm on one end. Its incomprendable as to how an after sale could be left hanging like this giving the loyalty we have given to this company. We are also customer of the bedding entity, Sleeping Giant. We are seeking your professional assistance and are willing to meet half way as this lounge is still like new. We have never experienced this kind of service and any lounge we have owned in the past have outlasted a minimum of 10-12 years. Can you please help?
