Customer complains about early morning work and workers driving on lawn, seeking apology and assurance from western power.
I was laying in bed and it would have been maybe just after 6:20am, and I got woken up to a light flashing through my bedroom window. I got out of bed and the guys are working on our power outlet outside. About 10 minutes later they have driven up on our lawn! I would appreciate it if this didn’t happen so early in the morning and driving on the lawn is a no no

Customer upset with western power for scheduling a 10-hour power outage on a weekend during school holidays, causing inconvenience and lack of essential services.
Very disappointed that western power have schedule a 10 hour power outage on a weekend on the first day of school holidays. This should have been done on a week day when parents are working and kids are at school. We can’t do food shopping as we havnt for a cold fridge or freezer for 10 hours we can’t do any washing, can’t have showers as we have instantaneous. It’s just very inconsiderate.

Customer is unhappy with quote for connection, wants clarification on charges and responsibilities, seeking $20,000 from western power.
Hi, I have just received a quote and design for SP050684 after requesting a connection at 2 Iles Rd Forest Grove. On reviewing the customer scope of works I was surprised to see that I am responsible for laying the conduit and arranging Easement on Gross. I'm not even sure what the Easement on Gross is and would think that Western Power would have a better idea of organizing this than the end user. Further why is the laying of conduit not in the quote? What does the $20K charge involve? Pulling a cable through conduit isn't that expensive. I need a quote that actually gets me green dome installed on the property. I don't think that is unreasonable given that I have already spent around $1800 at this point.

Customer requests advance notification of scheduled power outages via text to allow for better planning and minimize disruptions.
We had a scheduled power outage in our suburb today. We received a text message in the morning. Given that it is a scheduled power outage, could advance notification be given via text instead of on the day itself when the outage has occurred? This will help people plan for work and school as this caused a disruption. Thank you.

Customer upset about lack of communication regarding power outage, causing inconvenience and loss of water. requesting apology and better notification process.
I was informed that the power pole will be changed out on Brook rd on the 18th of may. I was not informed that the following day the 19th of may the power would be off from 7.30 am until 5.30 pm due to planned outage. Very disappointing that this is not followed up. When informed we can plan for the disruption. On this property we do not have access to town water, therefore when the power is out we also loose water. Very unprofessional, and unnecessary inconvenience, if only we knew. Robyn

Customer is extremely unhappy with western power's service, faults resolution, and lack of mitigation. they want the corporation to address multiple issues.
The service they claim to provide to their customers, is not even close to adequate and has not been for over a year. Extremely unhappy with Western Powers service, faults resolution and lack of mitigation / solutions to prevent future faults. This corporation needs to address a magnitude of issues, I don’t even know where to begin.

Customer seeks $2075.50 from western power for unnecessary expenses due to power disconnection and pole condemnation, despite no issues found.
On the 29/11/2023 our private pole was condemned for rust and its structural integrity reference number pprr5274.I then inspected the pole and found there to be nothing wrong with it enquiry number koxir0691486.we employed an electrician to convert to green dome the power however was still abruptly disconnected on the 11/03/2024 and reconnected on the 15/03/2024 the tenants in our house had to run generators for this time.after removing the power pole we can now clearly see that there was nothing wrong with it so our bill of $1875.50 for the electrician our tenants expenses for fuel around $200.00 was all unnecessary. Please review this information and if an inspector wishes to look at the pole and photographs to prove that what I have stated is true it can be arranged.

WE SUGGEST

Whilst Australia’s energy network is fairly robust, things can occasionally go wrong. Whether it's a power outage or an error in billing, Ajust is here to streamline the complaint process and ensure a timely resolution.

Find out the best way to make a complaint to your electricity or gas provider. We cover the 3 big energy retailers (AGL, EnergyAustralia and Origin Energy), as well as smaller companies. We also share guidance about the big issues facing energy consumers – like rising bills, meter reads and estimates, rebates, poor customer service and delays.

How to complain to

Western Power

Ajust’s platform is quick and easy to use. Our structured yet simple platform ensures that all necessary details reach your energy provider, making the resolution process simple for you. Here are some steps to consider before creating your complaint.

01
Describe the issue and how it affected you
Explain what went wrong, such as a blackout or billing issues like being overcharged. Help your energy provider understand the impact by sharing how the issue affected you.
02
Consider how you’d like your energy provider to resolve your complaint
Clearly communicate the action you expect your energy provider to take to resolve the issue, whether it involves restoring power or rectifying billing errors.
03
Gather any materials that support your complaint
Relevant documents that support your complaint can help speed up the resolution. A copy of your energy bills or a photo of your electricity meter can be useful depending on the nature or your complaint
