Customer seeks 3 months credit ($105) from amaysim due to a 12-hour network outage that impacted job interview, phone calls, and access to essential services.
I have a phone plan with amaysim ($35 / month for unlimited calls and text within Australia and certain overseas countries). I have been with them for many years. I use my data for Internet access as I have no other source of Internet, using my phone as a Hot-Spot device. I was impacted by the network outage in November 2023 for around 12 hours. I am seeking compensation of 3 months credit for my account ($105). Here's how the outage impacted me: 1. I had an important job interview (virtual/MS Teams) lined up on the outage day and had no direct way of either contacting the recruiter or re-scheduling. Eventually I was able to use another person’s phone (Telstra connected) to contact the recruiter but by then it was too late, they thought I should have been more ingenious! 2. I was unemployed. I had many scheduled phone calls to make that day – to recruiters, to Government and other support agencies, and I needed Internet and telephone access to obtain information, log in to Government sites, call recruiters and those Government and other support departments, access my online banking to pay for things, and more. 3. By the time I regained phone and Internet access it was too late in the day – after business hours – and due to that outage, over the following days it was nigh on impossible to get through to anyone due to the backlog of calls and requests people couldn’t make on that outage day. 4. On the day, I needed to buy food as I had next to nothing at home. My local shops were either closed due to the outage or would only accept cash. I went to the nearest ATMs to get some cash but they wouldn’t work. I was stuck at home with a packet of instant noodles and one can of tuna to cover my lunch and dinner needs. Not great. I presently get 80GB of included data per month and data-bank any unused. At the time of the outage I would have had ~800GB of banked data. So the offer from amaysim of extra free data to be used by December 31 was of no use to me. Having a short outage of an hour may be workable and acceptable – but having a near 12-hour outage is totally unacceptable. It cost me a job, ability to buy food, pay bills, and contact much-needed support services. Considering the direct and indirect financial and personal impact, I am seeking compensation from amaysim of 3 months credit on my account.

Complaint about optus outage, seeking $24 credit and apology from amaysim for 5 months of bad reception and unstable internet connection.
I was affected by the Optus outage and have had bad reception for 5 months. My phone calls drop out and my internet connection is unstable. It is very distressing as I am trying to organise psychology, home cleaning and doctor appointments.

Customer is complaining about the short expiry date of bonus data and requesting an extension until their plan expires.
As part of the recent network outage on 08/11/2023, I received 60GB bonus data to use but it is going to expire on 31/12/2023. This expiry date is very short, given that it is only just over a month time period for me to use it all. I am looking for the expiry date to be extended until my plan expires on 28/05/2024.

Customer is seeking monetary credit to account and an apology from amaysim due to a significant outage causing disruption.
On November 8th, there was a significant outage caused by Amaysim's wholesaler, which severely disrupted my ability to make and receive calls. As compensation for this inconvenience, I was provided with 60GB of data. However, this compensation is not suitable for my needs, as I am on a talk and text only plan. Therefore, I am seeking further compensation in the form of a monetary credit to my account, which would be more appropriate and helpful given the circumstances of the disruption

Optus outage caused stress and inconvenience, seeking $40 compensation from amaysim.
The Optus outage affected me and caused a lot of stress. I needed to coordinate with my family around the care of my 2 kids that day. The fact that I had no network or data made that very difficult, especially since my husband and parents in law are also with amaysim and so even when I was able to find a solution, because they also didn't have network it meant we could not be in touch. I ended up needing to postpone a client appointment and cancel a personal care appointment myself. It was a stressful day overall
