Customer unable to activate esim plan, poor customer service, seeking full refund from kogan mobile, reporting to fair trade commission.
I bought a 365 day plan with eSIM and was unable to activate it . Called Kogan 3 times and was unable to resolve the issue and was hung up on twice . Order confirmation PTEXA7UM on the 28/6 . I then called Apple and it was no issue on their behalf . Voucher no 3606286782 . I would appreciate a phone call and a full refund as I then had to change my phone number . The service on the end of the phone was quite belittling and hard to understand . I am also reporting this to the fair trade commission .

I bought 365 sim.You charge twice. You gave me credit for over charge. Your voucher number that you sent says that is invalid. What the fuck, are you doing. Hi Kogan Mobile Australia, I have tried to call your 1300 number for support but as I am now back in New Zealand I am unable to call 1300 numbers internationally, so this request will need to be dealt with via email please. I need you to please cancel my Kogan Mobile Australia monthly plan, so my credit card is not charged any further payments. Customer unable to make or receive calls on kogan mobile. tried troubleshooting steps, issue persists. suspects device compatibility issue.
I am unable to make call or receive calls from my phone. Sudden and without warning. Switched on/off airplane mode, mobile data, restarted, turned off wifi and bluetooth. Tried using another sim - works fine. Moved my sim to another phone - works fine. Is Kogan blocking my device specifically? Phone: OnePlus 7 Pro - had for ~6 years, under Kogan for the same amount of time.

Customer's mobile phone was ported without authorization, leading to potential security risks and financial loss. customer seeks apology and stronger action from kogan mobile.
On 13/02/24 my mobile phone was ported without my authorisation or knowledge. I did not interact in anyway with the mobile phone. The only communication I received was an SMS advising that my mobile phone number will be ported within 48 hours. I immediately contacted Kogan mobile and explained I did not request a port and to please stop any porting. After a lengthy (polite) discussion I got no where. The customer service person ((CSP) insisted for some time that I must have authorised the port either on purpose or by accident. Eventually the same customer service agent said "okay its an illegal port" I will send a form for a reversal of an illegal port. The action should have been stronger. My identity was not in question. I am and still your customer. The customer service person should have been able to do more and stop or reverse the port now or at the very least disconnect the number to the matter was resolved. I explained to the CSP that if someone has my mobile phone number then they may get access to my bank accounts. The number is 0416 771 808. The CSP said they can't do anything about a risk to bank accounts etc and that I should contact my bank. I did this, however illegal transfers occurred within an hour and funds were lost - This is being investigated. The CSP made me feel that the fault was mine. It was not my error. It is Kogans responsibility to confirm the identity of the person requesting the port. I am concerned that this was not rigorous enough. I have learned that such issues are covered seriously by an Act, The Telecommunications (Mobile number preporting additional Identity verification) industry standard 2020. I have completed the form sent to me by Vodafone and I am still waiting to get my number back and now that I know I can report to the police and the telecommunications industry ombudsman I will be doing so. (tomorrow) This illegal port (which should not have happenned as I rang immediately I got the SMS) has caused my wife and I considerable stress. I have spent two full days changing phone numbers, passwords etc with many organisations. Doing this without a mobile phone number to get OTPs was extremely difficult. My purpose in writing is to try and prevent this form happening in future to anyone else or me. I also feel your CS staff need better training to handle these issues and understanding the urgency of a illegal port.
