Customer seeks $395 refund from bankwest for home loan package fee not refunded after loan change.
BankWest has agreed to refund $395 home loan package fee, at the time request was made to change home loan type. Home loan change occurred July 2nd, but refund hasn't been done so far. Received a call yesterday from another BankWest department requesting the $395 be paid which I found offensive given the arrangements in place.

Customer complains about unauthorized purchases made with their bankwest mastercard and the bank's refusal to refund the amount.
On Monday 5th February 2024 we received a text from Australia Post requesting a payment for a second attempt delivery for a parcel. We were at the time expecting a package that had been redirected. So all seamed legitimate. They requested a payment of $1.35 for the redirection. My wife paid it with my Bankwest Mastercard on that same day. On Monday 5th Feb I went Bankwest Cockburn Branch Perth in the afternoon to verify my ID as requested by them from a letter received the previous week in the post. When the teller logged on to their system to check my ID they said that my Credit Card had been cancelled by them earlier that day. I asked the teller to bring up my statement on screen. There were 3 purchase made in Sydney, Apple Bondi Junction $490, The Precinct Bondi Junction $5.06, Mecca Brands Brisbane $450, that same morning a minute a part. The teller said that looked like suspicious activity so that would have seen why my card was cancelled. Bankwest never notified me that my card had been cancelled. I only found this out while I was at the bank. While I was at the bank they asked me to fill out a dispute form to claim the money back. Bankwest contacted me on the 16th to advise that they would be refusing the claim. I thought this was unfair, I have had a Bankwest Master card for over 35 years and have never defaulted on my payments or made any other claims. I am in my 60s and have been a loyal customer, I feel let down by the process and having to pay back this amount of money for something I never purchased.

Customer seeks $250 and an apology from bankwest for double charging, account holds, and lack of resolution from costco and bankwest.
When I fill up with petrol at Costco I must prepay for Fuel I swipe my bankwest debit card and they quarantine $250 Then i fill up with fuel and it costs me say $230 which bankwest takes out of my account So that is a total of $480 taken out of my account for a $230 transaction The quarantined $250 is then returned to my account 7 to 10 days later which is unacceptable They should only take the amount that i spend When this started happening a couple of years ago i spent months going back and forward from Bankwest to Costco as they blamed each other but neither would step up and resolve the issue I eventually gave up and stopped using Costco until i discovered that Costco only quarantine amounts over $100 So for the last couple of years every time i go to Costco i have been filling using $90 amounts One of my cars takes 3 of these $90 transactions to fill up Fast forward to this week and now whenever bankwest / costco sees two $90 transactions they put a hold on my card without even telling me And for me to find out about the hold is usually when im at the next checkout trying to pay for something : ( So now costco wont even talk to me and bankwest make we wait online for 30mins plus just to talk to someone and they hide behind " öh we are protecting you from fraud" Its not our faulty its costcos fault ( where have i heard that before?) I explain how can it be unusual behaviour? - I have been going to costco for years buying $90 worth of petrol on multiple occasions I only ever have small amounts of money in these cards that i use regularly so if someone ever does steal my money it wont bankrupt me I do not need Bankwests / Costcos "not fit for purpose" Fraud monitoring systems But bankwest / Costco dont care they just keep putting a hold on my account without my knowledge and causing me more grief and hardship than someone actually stealing $90 out of my account SO now I have 3 problems that bankwest / Costco will not resolve 1 - Stealing double the amount out of my card when i fill up with fuel 2 - Putting a hold on my account when they can clearly see it is not fraudulent activity 3 - both Costco and Bankwest flatly refusing to resolve my issues

Complaint about fraudulent charges on card, seeking refund and apology from Bankwest.
I noticed two fraudulent charges on my card when I tried to use it today and my payment got declined because the criminals emptied my account. I called Bankwest immediately because the charges are still "authorised only", hoping to get my funds back. I was told I will need to wait for the funds to go through to the merchant and then fill a transaction dispute form, then Bankwest will "try" to get the merchant to return the funds they've taken. This does not guarantee that i will get my funds back. That's just not right- I shouldn't be liable for the unauthorised transactions. I called Bankwest a second time and got the same answer from a different officer. I was told I have to wait up till 45 days for a refund if anything. Something similar happened to a friend of mine and their bank refunded them before the merchant returned the funds. It's clear that Bankwest is trying not to have to refund me. Shouldn't Bankwest care for my interest as their customer rather than leaving this to the merchant who has no reason to care for me?

Complaint about a mysterious link between my Bankwest Mastercard and my wife's work Mastercard causing issues when one card is disabled.
I have a Bankwest Mastercard. My wife's work has issues her with a work Mastercard in her name. Many years ago my wife and I had joint accounts with Bankwest (no longer). My Mastercard and my wife's work Mastercard seemed to be mysteriously linked. If one card is disabled, the other is affected. My wife and wife's work have raised this several times but they seem unable to resolve it.
