Unauthorized direct debit resulted in unauthorized charges on my mastercard account. seeking $4995.82 compensation. will cancel mastercard.
After I paid off my M/card 3 weeks ago (-and was actually in credit) I am now been told that I owe A$4995.82 because someone I don't know in the Phillipines (Kelvin Nicol Enterprises) transferred money into my Mastercard account on a monthly basis via direct debit and now Mastercard refunded this money to that company. I have never set up a direct debit with this company and I never linked my credit card with this company. I only now realized that this was happening since earlier this year after I noticed the discrepancy in my M/card account. Furthermore, I have deliberately set my credit limit to the minimum amount of A$2000.- so how is it possible that A$4995.82 was taken out of my account?? I thought that an account with Mastercard was a secure way of paying bills but it looks like that this is not the case! After this issue is resolved I will cancel my Mastercard and try to find a more secure way to manage my money.

Customer seeks $650 and an apology from Coles after credit card hacking, causing financial stress and complications with account verification.
My credit card was hacked, it seems to have used my mobile number, apple pay, I have always had Android phones, and my credit card account. I have straight away changed my credit card number at this time.
Since the phonecall made by Coles Financial Services about the 3 payments to Revolute seeming suspicious, I received a letter telling me that, apple pay being used to authenticate my payment on 0434 399 820 was their reason to believe it's legitimacy.
I have dealt with Optus regarding my phone number possibly being hacked. After I was told by Optus to go to the Police station and get a report, Optus still won't put in a letter that my mobile phone may have been hacked. They do agree with me that I could not have used apple pay on the Samsung Galaxy s10 I have been using from 2019 to now and they have sent me all the documentation regarding this device.
So far I have done everything that Coles Financial Services has asked of me, and now my credit card has been blocked due to needing to change my mobile phone number due to the hack.
Here I am,$650 on my credit card that I still can't rectify, now needing to go to a j.p. to verify my I.d. then post with my details.
At present I am since 28/6/2024. Then 4/7/2024 when Resolute took the 650 dollars out again after reversing the payments on 28/6/2024.
The stress this has caused, being a person with Bipolar disorder, as well as the financial stress, my account is overdrawn even though I applied for a higher limit which I mustn't have got! I also feel that my credit score will somehow be effected by this hacking nightmare.
I would really like the end result to be becoming whole of the $650 that was hacked from me, someone seeing that I couldn't have used Apple pay as I have never used an apple device.
And compensating any fees and interest charged, due to extra amount of $650, during July and very early August.

WE SUGGEST

Banks play a hugely important role in society by helping people facilitate day to day transactions and manage financial affairs. Whilst banks are typically extremely reliable, occasionally people do have an issue that needs fixing. Whether it's an incorrect fee or a transaction you don’t recognise, Ajust is here to simplify the process of creating your complaint.

We explain how to complain to any bank – from the big 4 (ANZ, CBA, NAB and Westpac), to credit unions, neo-banks and everything in between. We also share guidance about common issues facing banking consumers, including unauthorised transactions, faulty ATMs, branch closures, poor customer service, delays and more.

How to complain to

Coles Credit Cards

Ajust helps hundreds of consumers resolve complaints every month. By following the simple process, Ajust will get the right information to the right place at your bank so that they can resolve your complaint. Here are some things to keep in mind when you’re getting started.

01
Describe the issue and how it affected you
It’s important to be clear about what went wrong, such as an unauthorised transaction or a problem with online banking. Be sure to tell your bank how the issue affected you so that they can act swiftly to resolve your complaint.
02
Consider how you’d like your bank to resolve your complaint
Help your bank by being clear about the outcome you are requesting, such as a refund of unauthorised charges or an apology for an outage. This will help the bank work swiftly to investigate and resolve the issue.
03
Gather any materials that support your complaint
Sharing relevant documentation can help your bank identify your issue faster. Consider sharing files such as bank statements or transaction receipts so that the bank can visually identify your issue and work towards a solution.
