Customer seeks return of funds and apology from citibank usa for closing account without notice and not returning money.
I opened an account with Citi bank a few months ago on March 26, 2024 I tried looking at my account balance and I couldn’t log in I then call them and they closed my account I’ve barely have had 4 transactions on this account I paid $25 to open the account then my fiancé sent me 10,000 and on March 26, 2024 he sent $7600 well they closed my account have not returned the money to him or me I don’t know that’s what a bank account is for to put money in it then they didn’t even tell me they were closing the account and my money isn’t returned to me

Customer seeking refund from citibank usa after falling victim to fraud while trying to secure a booth for an exhibition.
We were in touch with a person called John Lederer as the sales manger for Cosmoprof Las Vegas exhibition We booked a Booth for our company in this exhibition which is going to take place in last week of July,2024 we supposed to receive the invoice to pay and secure our booth , we received an invoice and to make sure we are contacting the right people we as kind of double check we ask them to send the invoice and bank details by what's app , and this is also happened , then we made the transfer on March 8th. , 2024 The person who called us using the name John Lederer started to ask for more money because we need to secure our booth After that we had a bad sign then we contacted the organizers by phone call to confirm receiving they said no we didn't receive any money from you So we went back to the emails to find a hacking The original email of the organizer was : John.Lederer@informa.com The Other Fraud email was : John.Lederer.informa@usa.com Here is the Tel No. The Fraud person contacted us by what app from +19094898931 Then we discovered that it was a Fraud unfortunately We went to our bank and filled a form to stop the transfer (Refund) , That was last Sunday March 17th. Citibank usa failed to issue replacement debit card, blocked access to pension funds, and unhelpful customer service.
I received an email that my new Debit Card was on its way. Nearly 3 months later and many, many phone calls they will not issue a replacement. I destroyed the old card on receipt of the email so cannot give the code number on the back of the card, so most of the staff answering the phone just will not help. Pension funds are deposited every month and they have blocked all our access.Sent snail mail, still no help. My S.S. number they don't like so we are still blocked. Just send another card and we will call to activate it.

Customer is unable to complete a wire transfer due to issues with phone verification code and lack of communication from citibank.
After moving from the United States to Australia and changing my phone number from a U.S. number to an Australian number , I made several attempts to wire transfer money from my Citi account to another account in Australia. Each time the attempts where denied due to the unsuccessful attempts to reach me by telephone because I was told that the system would not accept a Australian phone number so there is way to complete the transaction without the verification code. That I understand however I was told that there was a verification code sent out by mail but the representative of Citi will not tell us whether the letter was sent to our old US address or our current Australia address. Mean while my Citi debit card and credit card has been closed and we are unable to gain any access to our money without this verification code. We have given our new address in Australia and all other verification information to Citi before we even left the United States which was the 20th of December 2023. We have been given the run around with this banks outsource service center which is not even in the United States and it is nearly impossible to speak with anyone from the US. We have a child with disabilities and it is imperative that we are able to gain access to our money asap. If anyone is able to assist us in this matter please contact me as soon as possible. As a valued customer of Citibank, I trust that you will thoroughly investigate this matter and take immediate action to rectify the situation, in accordance with the relevant rules and regulations set forth by the United States banking industry.<br /><br />I have been a victim of a scam perpetrated by an individual who took advantage of me during a vulnerable time. The individual used manipulation, lies, and deception to lure me into his scheme and consequently scammed me for $8,365.51 USD via my Citibank Diamond Preferred Credit Card. The transactions occurred as follows:<br />• October 7, 2023 PayPal $720.60<br />• October 7, 2023 PayPal $823.50<br />• October 9, 2023 B&H Photo $3,837.31<br />• November 7, 2023 PayPal $2,500<br />• December 22, 2023 Venmo $257.50<br />• December 30, 2023 Venmo $226.60<br /><br />These transactions were made under false pretenses, and I was led to believe that I was engaging in legitimate dealings. However, it has come to my attention that I have fallen victim to a Romance Scam, where the perpetrator preyed upon my emotions and trust, ultimately defrauding me of a significant sum of money.<br /><br />I want to emphasize that my only fault in this situation was placing trust in an individual who turned out to be deceitful and unscrupulous. I acted in good faith, believing that I was making legitimate transactions, only to discover later that I had been manipulated and taken advantage of.<br />As a responsible customer, I immediately reported the fraudulent activities to Citibank as soon as I became aware of them. I provided all necessary information and documentation to support my claim, and I am now reaching out to you to request reimbursement for the total amount of $8,365.51 USD that was unlawfully taken from my account.<br /><br />I understand that instances of fraud and scams can be complex and challenging to resolve, but I urge you to prioritize this matter and expedite the reimbursement process.
