Customer felt uncomfortable and judged when seeking a medical certificate at pharmacy 4 less, due to unnecessary questions and lack of empathy.
First time, I’m getting a medical certificate at a Pharmacy for my personal leave from work and I felt uncomfortable. I didn’t book an appointment with the doctor, as I had seen a Pathologist in the morning with a referral code from prior appointment. I asked the Pharmacist at Pharmacy 4 Less for a Med Cert as one does. When I was seen, I was asked what’s happened by the Pharmacist. I told the lady, I had a blood test this morning. Now, I didn’t want to include my other factors of reason as I shouldn’t have to? In what I felt was rude, she asked, “Then why do you need a medical certificate?” With a tone I did not appreciate and I simply said, my uncle passed away. Which he did indeed and it’s an emotional day even though I hide my emotions well, doesn’t mean I’m not affected. I shouldn’t have to give someone I do not know, my personal story. Moving forward, she asked if I was getting enough sleep plus if it’s just for today and I answered. I got my certificate and didn’t say anything else. I’m a soft spoken person and again, did not appreciate the service at all. I honestly felt guilty for not going to work even though I have my reasons and my attendance is great.
