Unauthorized charges on debit card

Unauthorized charges of $1398.00 on wells fargo debit card, blamed by bank, causing stress and health issues, seeking reimbursement.
Two unauthorized charges, totalling $1398.00, occurred on my Wells Fargo debit card on Sept 11, 2023 at a Rite Aid store. During this time I was hospitalized on that date & for the week. I then called Wells Fargo Claims Ofc to file a dispute. Wells Fargo first gave me a temporary credit on Oct 25, 2023. On Dec 7, 2023 Wells Fargo took the money back and placed the blame on me alleging, "We believe you made the purchases yourself or someone you know did". Then they escalated my case to their outside 3rd party ECMO dept - who has had six (6) different representatives calling me (from different area codes), leaving me messages, sending me emails, mailing me numerous letters, including huge 9 by 12 inch envelopes - all of which state the same: "We believe you made the purchases or someone you know did." No investigation has been done on my case. I've done it on my own time. The stress of dealing w/Wells Fargo/ECMO & their constant wrongfully accusing me of something I did not do has caused me to suffer a small heart attack (confirmed on Wed., March 27, 2024 EKG). I fully believe my debit card was used illegally on Sept 11, 2023 & the two transactions made on my debit card at a Rite Aid we're unauthorized - not made by me or by anyone I know. It is inappropriate for Wells Fargo/ECMO to wrongfully blame, in writing & email, my family, friends & co-workers. By Wells Fargo" Zero Percent Liability" protection, I should be protected from unauthorized charges & the $1,398.00 should be reimbursed/reinstated to my checking acct.

WE SUGGEST

Banks play a hugely important role in society by helping people facilitate day to day transactions and manage financial affairs. Whilst banks are typically extremely reliable, occasionally people do have an issue that needs fixing. Whether it's an incorrect fee or a transaction you don’t recognise, Ajust is here to simplify the process of creating your complaint.

We explain how to complain to any bank – from the big 4 (ANZ, CBA, NAB and Westpac), to credit unions, neo-banks and everything in between. We also share guidance about common issues facing banking consumers, including unauthorised transactions, faulty ATMs, branch closures, poor customer service, delays and more.
