Customer experienced poor service at the reject shop, felt unwelcome and disrespected by employees, seeking an apology and resolution.
I was in The Reject Shop Scone, Monday 17th June, around 9.15am. There were 2x female store reps in shop at the time that I noticed while I was standing at the counter, I over heard them debating on who was going to serve me. I heard the older female telling the younger female to come and serve me as there was no one at the counter to take my payment, I clearly heard the younger female rep say “no I don’t want to go serve her” which made me want to walk out of the store however I needed the things I purchased from the store, which was washing powder, Vicks vapour rub, Vicks drops and slippers. Reluctantly the younger store rep came over but I could tell she had an attitude and her service was just as bad, no welcome, just a “do you need a bag?” which I said no to as I had bought a reject shopping bag with me as I have shopped there many times previously and l love that store. I’m in retail myself and work for one of the biggest retail companies in NZ and as an employee of this company we pride ourselves in the customer journey and experience. I’ve never in my whole life been made to feel like I was not good enough to be in your store yesterday and it’s disappointing to know you have employees that display this type of behaviour towards ANY of your customers. I felt as though I was being profiled in a way that made me walk out of the store sadden by the experience I just had.

Customer complains about out-of-stock items when ordering online from the reject shop through doordash, requests apology and better stock management.
This is paul brown i want to make a complaint about every time i order your products online with doordash & when i look online for my receat. i always see out of stock !!! this is not good enough !!!!! if your shelves are getting low on stock you should refill them. That way pepole can get there items for what they ordered. This is not the first time it's happened !!!!

When I was standing in line to the checkout, the boy who was supposed to serve us was playing with his mobile phone. When I finally got to him, I asked if he was allowed to play with his phone during this time, and he replied very rudely that he was allowed. I am very dissatisfied with this treatment of customers.

Customer upset about being directed to front entrance instead of back, feeling discriminated against and inconvenienced. considers not shopping at the reject shop.
I visited the reject shop Ballarat and I made a purchase as I was close to the back entrance where my car was parked I wanted to go out the back entrance, however I was told I had to go from the front entrance, although I witnessed a person leave by the back entrance i said how come that they can leave by that entrance and was told she is staff which made me angry as I felt discriminated against and I had to go via a very unstable walkway back to my car, this is not good enough as a lot of disabled people visit the Reject shop and should not have to endure this situation, it makes me want to not shop here, I could understand during Covid precautions using this method. but not now. Most unsatisfactory

Customer purchased faulty travel mug, wanted refund without receipt, only offered exchange. request for clearer return policy and consistency with receipt option.
I had purchased $43.00 worth of products from my local Reject Shop in Dromana Vic in that purchase I had a travel mug but when I got in the car I realised the lid was never going to close properly so I didn’t want it and wanted a refund . When I was at the checkout I was given an option as to weather I wanted a receipt or not so I chose no so upon Taking the travel cup back and asking for a refund I was told because I didn’t have the receipt I could only exchange it for something else . If a customer should not be given the choice then to have or not have a receipt if this is going to be the case . I could see nothing in your terms about returning a product if the receipt is optional at the checkout . I says get a credit note but only after I asked but it’s not what I wanted .

Customer experienced rude treatment by manager at the reject shop, accused of stealing. bought bags and left to finish shopping at kmart.
After shopping at Kmart to find there we’re no bags for sale I went across the road to the reject shop to purchase one. Upon entering the store I found the bags and proceeded to pick up 2, putting my Kmart shopping in one and attempted to then do shopping. The manager then approached me and asked me to remove my stuff from shopping bag. I provided a receipt and then explained I had put the stuff into the bag so I could shop and I wanted to buy 2 bags. He proceeded to make a scene and slandered me by saying I was trying to steal. I then proceeded to the checkout, bought the 2 $1 bags and will now go back to Kmart to finish shopping because even though I love the reject shop, I would rather feel welcome to shop how I choose and not be harassed. Other customers also witnessed and asked if I’m okay. The workers name was DEREK and this happened at RUNDLE MALL in ADELAIDE.
